Proprietary Tribulus by Sopharma
Tribestan is a completely natural non-hormonal herbal product derived from the plant Tribulus terrestris L., Bulgaricum, which contains predominantly saponins of furostanol type (not less than 45% in Tribestan), with prevailing quantity of protodioscin. Over 25 years of experience with natural herbal Tribestan administration has seen no toxicity and negative effects to date.
Further R&D efforts included incorporation in a tablet form of a substance greatly affected by absorbed humidity. Tribestan was approved for production and implemented in mainstream practice in 1985, and on the market ever since. The product is practically non-toxic and has no side effects - no changes of lifestyle required when accepting Tribestan. Tribestan is natural and safe. Tribestan is based on a proprietary extract from Sopharma and the active substance does not contain herbal particles.
Tribestan has been used in recreational sports!
We would like to emphasize that the push towards higher Protodioscin content in Tribulus based products is misleading. The product claiming higher levels of Protodioscin simply use inferior extracts or ground herbal material and artificially add Protodioscin. The true superiority of the effectiveness and safety of Tribestan is expressed in a biologically balanced substance where are present not only Protodioscin, Protogracillin, but other key saponins in critically important ratios.
Tribestan properties and applications
Tribestan has been used with no contraindications, no toxicity and no side effects. With its good safety profile and its natural herbal origin, Tribestan is sold as a dietary supplement in many countries with little restriction on its use.
Tribestan is usually recommended in a dose of 2 tablets 3 times per day for 20 days. Thereafter, the dose is being reduced by 1 tablet every 4 - 5 days to reach maintenance dose of 1 tablet 2 times a day whereas the term of treatment depends upon the achieved effect.
Alternatively, Tribestan may also be administered in a dose of 2 tablets 2 times per day for a 30-day course with a following dose reduction to 1 tablet 2 times daily every 4 - 5 days.
Tribestan may be administered in a dose of 1 tablet 3 times a day continuously for a longer period of time (up to one year).
Please note that Sopharma does not endorse the usage recommendation, practices, opinions, etc. as they have been developed from empirical experience.
Most common course is 180 tablets i.e. 3 packs of 60 tablets.

The head of the development team called Tribestan:
Gift of Nature to Humanity!
Tribestan is a natural product and is obtained from the thorn plant Tribulus Terrestris L., growing in Bulgaria. The natural habitats of the plant have been extensively studied and are well defined as species and like other plants, would often change its composition depending on the site and conditions of growth. Tribestan has well defined chemical composition and is standardized in relation to its active ingredients. The author and the product development team took very active part in its implementation in regular production by the manufacturer Sopharma AD of Sofia, Bulgaria. Curiously enough, the development of this product cost nearly 20 years to the principal author and the research team, as the active ingredients turned out to constitute a new type of active substances. Thus, an author's hypothesis, connected with the long-lived experience was finally crowned with success and got its modern tune and meaning.

Formulation and Active Substance Content
Tribestan is an original non-hormonal preparation of plant origin. Its active components are saponins of furostanol type isolated from the epigeous part of the Tribulus terrestris L. plant. The preparation has been standardized on a base of the predominating compound furostanol saponins 45% with predominating quantity of protodioscine.
Dosage and Mode of Application
The dosage and duration of intake are being determined individually. Most often, the dose is 1 - 2 tablets of 250 mg 3 times a day with meals. The duration in some cases should be at least 40 - 50 days.
The necessary minimal therapeutic cycle to be 80 – 90 days.
The treatment is strictly individually adjusted and depends upon the severity of the condition. The usual dose is 1 - 2 tablets of 250 mg 3 times a day with meals. The combined administration of Tribestan with other preparations is recommended in some cases.
Use during Pregnancy or Lactation
The animal experiments showed that Tribestan possesses a very low toxicity. No evidence of any carcinogenic, embryotoxic and/or teratogenic effect was found. However, the preparation must be discontinued whenever a pregnancy is established.
Cautions and Specific Warnings
The transition from the effect-achieving to the maintenance dose must be gradually realized. The abrupt reduction of the dose that achieved the effect results in a renewed triggering of the whole complex of signs and symptoms.
